NiQuit Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

NiQuit is a smoking cessation app. This policy explains what data we handle and how.

Data stored on your device

The following information is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and is never sent to our servers:

AI Coach

When you use the Coach feature, your messages are sent through our server and forwarded to Anthropic to generate a reply. We do not store your conversations. They are kept only on your device. NiQuit does not read or retain the content of your coaching conversations.

Payments

Supporting NiQuit is entirely voluntary. If you choose to give back, the payment is handled by your platform's in-app purchase system, Apple on iOS or Google on Android. We never receive or store your payment details; their privacy policies apply to the transaction. We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases, which receives a purchase record and an anonymous app user identifier, never your payment information.

Website donations

If you donate through the NiQuit website (niquit.app/support), your payment is processed by Stripe. NiQuit does not store your card or payment details. Stripe acts as the payment processor and its privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data. This applies only to website donations, not to in-app purchases.

Push notifications

Motivational notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No message content is sent to external servers.

Analytics

NiQuit uses PostHog to understand how the app is used in aggregate. All data is stored exclusively on PostHog's EU servers (eu.i.posthog.com) and never transferred outside the European Union.

We collect anonymous usage events, such as "app opened", "milestone reached", or "course lesson viewed", along with a randomly generated identifier that is not linked to your identity in any way. We do not collect your name, email address, quit date, smoking habits, personal reason for quitting, or any other information that could identify you. Analytics data is never shared with advertisers, and NiQuit does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

On the website (niquit.app), analytics cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. Without your consent, PostHog counts visits without cookies and without storing anything on your device, using an anonymous identifier that changes every day. This shows us how many people visit the site, but not who they are.

Advertising

NiQuit shows ads served by Google AdMob. This is what keeps the app free. Any in-app donation turns ads off for good on that device.

To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects your device's IP address (used to estimate an approximate location), device identifiers (on Android, the advertising ID; on iOS we do not ask for tracking permission, so Apple's advertising identifier is not used), ad interactions such as views and taps, and diagnostic data about how ads perform. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.

To make each ad pay more, AdMob also lets other ad networks bid for the same ad space: Liftoff (Vungle), Unity Ads and Pangle. When one of them wins, its SDK in the app shows the ad and receives the same kinds of data as Google: IP address, device identifiers (on Android, the advertising ID), ad interactions and diagnostic data. Each network processes this data under its own privacy policy: Liftoff, Unity, Pangle. Your consent choice in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland applies to these networks too.

We never pass your quit date, smoking habits, health progress or any other information you enter in the app to the ad network. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, you are asked for consent through Google's consent form, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings, "Ad privacy". On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in the device settings.

Feedback

If you send us feedback from the app, your message, the email address you choose to add (optional), the app version, language, platform, the screen you were on and a random install identifier are forwarded to our team through Telegram. We use them only to reply to you and to fix problems.

Children

NiQuit is intended for adults (18 and older) who want to stop using nicotine. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Data deletion

All app data is stored on your device. Deleting the app removes all data permanently.
